Biologically active substances and supplements of the Vetom line for human health

Bacillus subtilis strain VKPM B-10641 (DSM 24613), Bacillus amyloliquefaciens strains VKPM B-10642 (DSM 24614) and VKPM B-10643 (DSM 24615), Lactobacillus plantarum strain VKPM B-2347 and Propionibacterium freudenreichii VKPM B-6561 being active agents of the serial products for improving health provides high efficiency. The project on improving the properties of some of these strains has been successfully carried out for 30 years and is currently ongoing. Bacillus subtilis strain VKPM B-4759 is a prototype of Bacillus subtilis strain VKPM B-10641 (DSM 24613). It was created in the 80s of the last century in scientific institutions of Microbiological Industry in the USSR within the framework of the government project on development of biogenic disaster-protective means.

The state registration of Vetom 1.1 as veterinary preparation with Bacillus subtilis strain VKPM В-4759 as an active agent was made in 1995. It was the first microbial preparation on the base of the genus Bacillus in Russia and the first preparation which didn’t cure, but it made health improved (it healed the body), i.e. the preparation allowed the body to manage an infectious disease on its own. A multi-year practice in the application of "Vetom" serial products (from 1995 to the present) confirms that the task has been tackled successfully.

The preparations do significantly reduce the risk of becoming ill with human and animal infections.

They actively help the body get rid of infection if it has already infected. The efficacy of these preparations can be evaluated at arbitrary scale from "do no harm" to "allow the body to fully cope with the disease".

One of the quality tests with "Vetom" serial products under Standards and Technical Specifications is a test of antagonistic activity of active agents of preparations for the following infective microorganisms: Shigella sonnei; Salmonella typhimurium (Salmonella enterica subsp. enterica serovar Typhimurium – according to advanced classification); Staphylococcus aureus; Candida ablicicans. These microorganisms cause such human and animal infections as various kinds of dysenteria (shigellosis), salmonellosis, acne, impetigo, furunculosis, phlegmon, anthrax carbuncle, staphylococcal scalded skin syndrome, abscess, pneumonia, meningitis, osteomyelitis, endocarditis, infectious-toxic shock, sepsic and other various diseases caused by Staphylococcus bacteria: from diseases of skin, soft tissues, respiratory, bones, joints, endovascular disease to traumatic lesion; and wide variety of healthcare-associated infections; candidiasis. Studies conducted in the Testing Laboratory for Biotechnological Control in "Research Center" also show the high antagonistic activity for other infective microorganisms from Company’s collection: Candida kruzei, Citrobacter diversus, Citrobacter freundii, Enterobacter agglomerans, Escherichia coli (hemolytic and toxigenic), Klebsiella ozaenae, Klebsiella pneumonia, Proteus vulgaris, Proteus mirabilis, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Salmonella enterica subsp. enterica serovar Choleraesuis, Salmonella enterica subsp. enterica serovar enteritidis, Salmonella enterica subsp. enterica serovar Paratyphi B, Serratia marcescens, Shigella flexneri, Staphylococcus haemolyticus, Yersinia pseudotuberculosis, Yersinia enterocolitica.
